Bunsen labs is a minimalist portable debian linux, bunsenlabs is made on the stable version of debian, meaning not prone to testing system crashing. The software is dated in stable editions of debian operating systems of linux, that dose not mean it is not useful. Bunsen labs is mostly geared to education, science, lab technologies, for desktop, mostly user friendly on laptops, works great on dual core or outdated computers. Some computer users prefer older, or classical hardware with linux, speed, minimalist, efficiency over bloated 3D eye-candy graphical interfaces, if' this is you, you might want to give this (global) japan linux operating system a try out. The desktop by default is open-box, can be changed with terminal codes, or a synaptic package manager, in the search results.

To compare the software in this project to the software available in other distributions, please see our Compare Packages page.
Notes: In case where multiple versions of a package are shipped with a distribution, only the default version appears in the table. For indication about the GNOME version, please check the "nautilus" and "gnome-shell" packages. The Apache web server is listed as "httpd" and the Linux kernel is listed as "linux". The KDE desktop is represented by the "plasma-desktop" package and the Xfce desktop by the "xfdesktop" package.
Colour scheme: green text = latest stable version, red text = development or beta version. The function determining beta versions is not 100% reliable due to a wide variety of versioning schemes.
